For Easter we worked on a sequencing activity of the events of Jesus death and resurrection...
Then we got ready to make these yummy resurrection rolls...
We took the marshmallow to represent Jesus's body and rolled it in butter then cinnamon and sugar to represent the oils and spices they prepared the body with (the kids were very familiar with this process due to our study of mummies). Lastly, we wrapped it in crescent rolls to represent the tomb.
After they baked, the marshmallow melted so when we cracked open the tomb it was empty! Then we shouted, "He is risen. He is risen indeed!"
This was a wonderful, not to mention yummy, experience to celebrate this beautiful holiday!
